Foreword

Built to run
the factory floor.

A short introduction to this handbook

Industrial engineering does not stay still. Production lines get faster, supply chains stretch across borders, and the roles employers hire for keep tilting toward whoever can turn a process into a number and a number into a decision. The specialty of this programme is the practical implementation of digital transformation in industrial settings, so that every course, from Semester 1 onward, produces something an operations, supply chain, or manufacturing team could actually use.

Over eight semesters you move from mapping your first company system to running a full capstone on a real production or supply-chain problem. You will not only study concepts; you will build dashboards, production simulations, workstation redesigns, and feasibility studies: a working portfolio that shows you can operate, not just explain.

The curriculum concentrates on Operations & Supply Chain (O&SC) as its main focus, supported by three enabling domains: Digital & Systems Transformation, People & Work Organization, and Business & Market. The throughline across all of them, especially from Semester 3 onward, is an operations-and-supply-chain lens: every deliverable is framed around production efficiency, workstation design, inventory, or the economics of running a plant.

How to read this book. The first pages explain the model and shape of the programme. The second half walks through the curriculum semester by semester, each course paired with the tools you will learn, the concrete output you will build, and the career roles it prepares you for. Where a course sits outside industrial engineering (Calculus, university-required courses), its output is left honestly foundational rather than artificially reframed.

About the Programme

Four domains, one lens.

Operations & Supply Chain, supported by three domains

Industrial engineering at Cakrawala concentrates on Operations & Supply Chain, with digital systems, people, and the business of running a plant supporting that focus rather than competing with it. Its specialty is the practical implementation of digital transformation: understand the system, design the work, run the process, and account for the economics, with operations and supply chain as the throughline that ties the supporting domains together.

Three principles run through every course.

01

Tools industry actually uses

From Excel and Power BI to production-simulation software and ERP-conceptual tools, you train on what an operations, PPC, or supply-chain team is expected to know on day one.

02

An output for every course

Each subject ends in a tangible deliverable: a dashboard, a workstation redesign, a feasibility study, a production simulation. You graduate with proof of work, not just a transcript.

03

Roles, not just topics

Every course maps to real job titles across operations, supply chain, quality, and digital process improvement, so you always know which career door it opens.

Concentration Domains

The 144-credit total meets the standard minimum for an undergraduate engineering degree. Semester 1 is confirmed and finalised; Semesters 2 through 8 are structured under the BKSTI 2022 framework (KI-1/KI-2 core-competency standard).

Operations & Supply Chain is the main concentration of the curriculum, supported by three enabling domains: Digital & Systems Transformation, People & Work Organization, and Business & Market. There is a dedicated concentration semester in Semester 5 where all four are studied, each framed with operations/supply-chain outputs.

The Arc of Eight Semesters

Each term is defined by a single verb, a level of mastery to reach before moving on. Skill is layered, not rushed. The full ladder is on the next page.

One Main Focus, Three Supporting Domains

Operations & Supply Chain, at the center.

The domain structure behind Semester 5's concentration

Cakrawala's Industrial Engineering curriculum concentrates on Operations & Supply Chain as its main focus. The other three domains, Digital & Systems Transformation, People & Work Organization, and Business & Market, are studied as supporting domains: each strengthens the main focus rather than competing with it, so every course's output is still framed around an operations or supply-chain problem.

One last thing

A handbook is a
starting point.
The rest is what
you build with it.

Four years, fifty courses, four concentration domains, and a portfolio of real operations work, from your first system map to a capstone that speaks for itself. Semester 1 is confirmed, and the following semesters are ready to be refined as the curriculum is finalised.
