Most curricula ask students to master theory for years before they ever set foot in a real legal environment. This handbook takes a different path: from Semester 1, students are already inside the industry — observing, assisting, and learning how law actually moves in practice — while building the academic foundation alongside it. Three internship periods, three months each, run across the programme, so theory is never abstract for long. What's learned in the classroom this month can be tested against a real case, a real client, or a real courtroom the next.
Because early exposure is a rare advantage, not a risk. Most students only see the inside of a law firm or legal department in their final year, by which point they've spent three years guessing what the profession actually looks like. Here, that guessing ends on day one. Students walk into real offices, sit in on real proceedings, and see how legal theory gets applied — then bring that context back into every class that follows. It changes how they learn: not memorising doctrine in the abstract, but recognising it the moment they meet it again in a brief, a contract, or a hearing.
From there, Enrichment I and II widen what students can do — deeper legal domains, applied skills, specialised topics. Practical Courses turn that knowledge into hands-on legal work. Concentration narrows into one chosen depth. Semester 8 closes the arc with a capstone, often completed while a final internship period continues alongside it.
Business Law · Curriculum Handbook 202601Business Law is not a list of courses in the usual order. It is a sequence chosen on purpose: theory and practice running side by side from day one, breadth before depth, and repeated industry immersion before the final project. Three principles run through every phase.
Semester 1 already places students inside real legal environments while the academic foundation is being built, not after it. Every phase that follows keeps that same rhythm: classroom learning and applied exposure moving together, never one waiting for the other.
Across the programme, students complete three internship periods, three months each, in approved legal and business environments. Each period builds in responsibility over the last, so exposure deepens as academic grounding does.
Students commit to a single depth chosen from three labs — Technology & Cyber Law, Startup & Venture Capital Law, and Financial Technology & RegTech — so every course in that phase reinforces the same direction.
Business Law · Curriculum Handbook 202602Able to advise on the legal side of technology, startups, and financial innovation, from drafting and structuring through to compliance and dispute resolution, not just knowing the regulations. Plus, understands how digital business and emerging technology work, so legal advice keeps pace with the industry it serves.
Law graduates typically leave campus with strong doctrine but little exposure to how it actually applies, and the gap between classroom and industry keeps widening as business and technology change faster than curricula do. Cakrawala closes that gap: theoretical grounding and industry practice are built into the curriculum at the same time, producing graduates who are ready to work, not just ready to recite the law.

Business Law · Curriculum Handbook 202603The eight semesters are organised around six phases rather than a flat sequence. The design is deliberate: theoretical grounding and industry immersion run together from the first semester, deepen through two rounds of enrichment, sharpen into hands-on practical courses, then narrow into one chosen concentration, tested across three internship periods, and closed with a defended capstone.
Each phase is defined by one verb. The full ladder is on the next page.
