Foreword

Built to power
what comes next.

A short introduction to this handbook

Every part of modern life runs on electricity and the systems built around it: the grid that powers a city, the chip inside a sensor, the signal that carries a phone call. This handbook introduces a programme designed so that every course, from Semester 1 onward, produces something an electrical, embedded-systems, or telecommunications team could actually use.

Over eight semesters you move from your first laboratory circuit to a full capstone project in the specialization you choose. You will not only study theory; you will build and test circuits, program microcontrollers, design communication links, and analyse power systems, a working portfolio that shows you can build, not just calculate.

From Semester 6 onward, the curriculum splits into three specialization tracks: Power Systems, Embedded Systems, and Telecommunications. Each track keeps the same foundation but points your final semesters toward a distinct part of the electrical engineering profession.

How to read this book. The first pages explain the shape of the programme and its three tracks. The second half walks through the curriculum semester by semester, each course paired with the tools you will learn, the concrete output you will build, and the career roles it prepares you for.

About the Programme

Why electrical engineering,
why now.

The discipline, the jobs, and why it matters here

Electrical engineering is the discipline behind generating, distributing, and controlling electrical power, and behind the electronics and signals that make computing and communication possible. It sits underneath three things every economy depends on: energy, automation, and connectivity.

What electrical engineers actually do

Graduates work as power system engineers keeping the grid stable, embedded systems engineers building the electronics inside vehicles, appliances, and industrial equipment, telecommunications engineers designing the networks that carry voice and data, control and automation engineers running factories, and renewable energy engineers designing solar and other clean-power installations.

Why it matters in Indonesia

Indonesia is still extending grid access across thousands of islands, building out renewable energy to meet its climate targets, expanding 4G and 5G networks into new regions, and growing a manufacturing base that depends on automation and embedded electronics. Electrical engineers are the people who make each of those efforts possible, which keeps demand for this degree strong and specific to the country's own infrastructure needs, not just a global trend.

The 144-credit total meets the standard minimum for an undergraduate engineering degree. Semester 1 carries 18 credits; Semesters 2 through 6 carry 20 credits each; Semester 7 carries 18 credits; and the Semester 8 capstone carries 8 credits.

Starting in Semester 6, students choose one of three specialization tracks: Power Systems, Embedded Systems, and Telecommunications. Each track shares the same foundation built in Semesters 1 through 5, then points the final semesters toward a distinct professional path.

The Arc of Eight Semesters

Each term is defined by a single verb, a level of mastery to reach before moving on. Skill is layered, not rushed.

One last thing

A handbook is a
starting point.
The rest is what
you build with it.

Four years, fifty-one courses, three specialization tracks, and a portfolio of real engineering work, from your first laboratory circuit to a capstone in the field you choose. Every semester moves you closer to powering, connecting, or automating what comes next.
